Hotel Hilton Garden Inn Portland Lake Oswego (Lake Oswego, USA)

Hotel staff are courteous, attentive, and helpful. They take care of the big issues and have the empathy for the small things as well. Besides the great staff, the location is convenient. The hotel is off I-5, near a host of restaurants within walking distance. Stanford’s and Oswego Grill are good dinner choices. An Applebee’s is directly across the road.

If you have the munchies, the hotel offers goodies like complimentary cookies and snacks. Fresh hot drinks are served in the spacious lobby as well.

The complimentary Wi-Fi is adequate. You do have the opportunity to check your email and browse the Internet without interruption.

Breakfast is not included with the hotel price and it’s too expensive. It’s strange, many of the most mundane hotels and hostels provide a complimentary breakfast of some sort. Offering a complimentary continental breakfast would suffice along with a charge for additional options would work.

The flushing of the toilet is extremely loud and it’s not possible to turn the bathroom fan on and off either. Not cool when you’re trying to get a quiet night’s sleep.

You may find the carpeting worn and in need of a good vacuuming. Bed linens show deterioration and the color is off.  Sheets are not white and bright, so to speak. Other materials on furnishings show wear-and-tear as well. Additional outlets would be appreciated. Lamps with outlets built into them is practical and would help a lot.
