Set in the heart of the city and overlooking the stunning main square, the hotel's placement is a primary reason for many to return. The area is replete with great shopping and dining options, while the breath-taking Grand Palace provides an amazing backdrop to enjoy from your balcony.

In spite of the abundance of great eateries in the surrounds, the breakfast here comes highly recommended. Located in a magnificent vaulted cellar, the buffet features an array of freshly prepared items, including delectable gluten-free options. Morning time staff are routinely singled out for their smiles.

While the majority of guests have nothing but praise for this historic building, some say its dated design isn't always conducive to comfort. Rooms are clean but cramped, even when sparsely furnished. Shower cubicles are too claustrophobic for some, who say it is like washing in a cupboard.

During summer months, guests have experienced issues with in-room temperatures. For those at the rear of the hotel, the issue is less pressing as windows can be opened, but for square-facing rooms, the opening of windows allows in noise, leaving guests to choose between being hot or disturbed.
