Positive Reviews
positive:
Ideal location for touring
It seems the hotel really is in the perfect position. Again and again guests mention that it half way between the lake and the railway station. To them this meant that when touring in the area they could either just stroll over to the station and catch a train to their destination, or down to the ferry port and board a ferry to travel up the lake.
positive:
Exceptionally welcoming staff
The excellent staff was by far the thing guests most commented on about Giardinetto. The hotel manager and host, Sarah, was said to lead from the top by being incredibly engaged and welcoming. Several guests mention feeling like on of the family after staying for a few days.
positive:
Excellent coffee
While the breakfast in general was enjoyed, it was the coffee that was singled out for special praise by quite a few guests. They all agreed that it met their high expectations they had for Italian coffee.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Traffic noise from the street
Guests who had street facing rooms mentioned that they never really wanted to open the windows, especially at night, due to the noise from the cars roaring past. With the windows closed it was said not to be too loud, but light sleepers would want to consider bringing earplugs.
negative:
Poor Wi-Fi
Unfortunately it seems the Giardinetto is like many other hotels in that it regularly experience Wi-Fi problems. Guests mention either not getting a signal, or it being too slow for their purposes.
negative:
Bathrooms a bit dated
Guests didn't seem to have any issues with the room décor, but quite a few mention the bathrooms as being especially out of date, believing that for both aesthetic and practical reasons they should be modernised.
