Hotel Fountainside (Hobart, Australia)

Pretty much all guests, and certainly all those who brought up the questions of location, felt that the hotel was extremely well situated. Motorists liked that it was easy to access the hotel off the highway, and all guests liked that it was right in the CBD and so very easy to walk to central Hobart’s main attractions and amenities.

Right after detailing at length how fantastic the hotel’s location was, many guests went on to say that they were surprised by how quiet their rooms were. Since the hotel is on a major road, many were clearly expecting a bit of street noise. It seems though, that proper soundproofing measures like double and triple glazed windows have been installed, so the rooms were havens of peace and quiet.

Too many guests to mention brought up the question of parking. Considering the central location of the hotel, they were simply amazed to discover that onsite parking at the hotel was available to guests free of charge. They regarded this as an unusual policy, as compared to other hotels, but certainly very welcome.

Guests travelling as late as September 2016 mentioned that the hotel was installing a new lift. This seems to have caused some inconvenience as a result of the general movement of workers, dust and related issues, as well as some internal noise that started too early for some guest’s liking. The completion date of the work is uncertain, so guests are advised to check directly with the hotel.
