The front desk employees are often the first ones a guest encounters, and can set the tone for their whole experience. Guests at Cadillac Jack's found that their warm and friendly greeting really put them instantly at ease during their stay. Though there are no guarantees, many reviews mentioned receiving free upgrades to a more premium room, such as one of the many jacuzzi rooms.

Almost everyone had something nice to say about the cleanliness of the rooms. It was clear that the housekeeping department does a stellar job. Not only were the rooms spotless, but longer term guests found them to be well maintained throughout their stay.

Guests loved exploring the many shops and restaurants in the historic town of Deadwood. The town holds entertaining historic reenactments, like an 1800's era shoot out. From there, it's just a short trip to see Mount Rushmore and the Crazy Horse Memorial.

There are a great many reviews claiming that the slot machines are "tight" and don't pay out often. Whether that's really the case, or just the result of embittered gamblers with bad luck is difficult to verify.

Through the hotel claims that they explain the policy and will gladly waive it on check in, many guests reported being surprised to find a daily "Cadillac Experience" charge on their bill. The fee covers a daily gambling credit and discounts at the hotel's restaurant, among other benefits. Some guests would have preferred that this had been more clearly explained to them, or claimed that it was not explained at all.

A few guests expressed that the guest rooms and common areas of the hotel are beginning to look tired, and hoped that a renovation was on the horizon.
