Hotel de Moura (Moura, Portugal)

In the wonderful region of Alentejo, at the golden plains of the left bank of the Guadiana River, in the beautiful town of Moura, the 3-star Hotel de Moura occupies a building of significant historical, architectural and artistic value, a former convent of the Ordem Hospitaleira de S. João de Deus, founded in the seventeenth century, and adapted to Grand Hotel de Moura in the year 1900. The building is in the process of classification as public interest heritage. It is a domed building with a tiled façade with Greek trim, masonry openings in the first floor and the other frames in mass and balustrade with statues and ceramic vases. The courtyard and staircase elements are notable. Nowadays, the Hotel de Moura offers 36 guest rooms and 3 apartments. There is a reception, the club room with bar/coffee shop and cable TV, the noble salon, the living room with a typical and warming fire place for reading and games (chess, chequers, etc.), an interior yard and spacious, multipurpose rooms for private and business events and weddings.
