Positive Reviews
positive:
Good value.
When you draw breath to criticize the ancient television, lack of an elevator etc; it's worth pondering on the fact that, compared with the competition, this 2-star hotel is really cheap. If you're on a budget, you get excellent value and does it really matter that there's some old stuff here? It all works; that's the main thing.
positive:
Friendly staff.
Many guests have been returning here for years and are welcomed as old friends by friendly, long serving staff.
positive:
You can't beat this location.
The Dinner Theater is less than a mile away. In addition; the bowling and golf center, Boulders mini golf and St. Leo the Great Catholic Church are all well within a three mile distance.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Lack of security.
Sometimes the front desk is unattended for very long periods. The doors are open so anyone and everyone can just wander in. Many appear to do just that. From the paying guest's angle, this lack of security is a concern.
negative:
Poor catering.
Breakfast is pretty bad and it seems standard practice for many guests to eat somewhere else. The hotel isn't worried - they've been paid; but the guest hasn't received good value! Vending machines don't work and there's no coffee maker in the room. This just adds to the frustration.
negative:
Unpleasant atmosphere.
Generated, it must be assumed, from the 'top', staff tend to be surly, uncooperative and unsympathetic to the needs of guests.
