Hotel Comfort Inn & Suites Maumee - Toledo I80-90 (Maumee, USA)

It’s quite a basic but well functioning hotel. Rooms are, in the main, fine; better than you would expect for the price ... + with some pleasant surprises.

Staff members are very pleasant and helpful. This applies particularly to the front-desk people who go out of their way to assist.

It’s next to the highway but rooms are very quiet. Another big plus is the number of restaurants that are in this vicinity. Cracker Barrel is very close and a good breakfast alternative ... if you want to ring the changes on hotel fare.

Bathrooms, in particular, have been missed off any renovation list. Fixtures and fittings are very dated. Beds too, need replacing. Currently, they are very uncomfortable. Day to day cleaning is also lagging behind what is reasonably expected.

Breakfast is a disappointment. Not very well stocked, items are missing and nobody seems to be sufficiently energised to replace them. What is on display seems to be low quality. Time to visit Cracker Barrel!

The hotel must know that when they let a room as non-smoking; the smell of smoking left by previous guests, is a problem that’s just waiting to happen. Even with the fan working constantly, the problem remains. They should really either have a number of strictly non-smoking rooms (*with hefty fines for violating the rule), or they should at least advise arriving guests of the situation. The guest is then less likely to complain. Another problem : If your room is over/near the main entrance, there is a constant noise of the doors opening and closing. Ask for a room away from the main entrance.
