Hotel Castle Garden (St. Augustine, USA)

The Castle Garden is a B&B in St. Augustine, Florida. The establishment with its historic background and period architecture has a romantic charm to it and attracts guests with its ambience. Formerly a carriage house it still retains constructions like the chimney and the foundation of the old blacksmith's shop and the unique coquina stone exterior. The B&B is a short distance from attractions like Lightner Museum, St Augustine and Old City Gates.

The seven rooms are all individually decorated and have the feel of a castle with its vintage crafted furniture and décor. Many of the rooms have cathedral ceiling and whirlpool baths. All rooms except one have en suite bathroom. Rooms have free Wi-Fi access.

The B&B organizes events like weddings on site. It has a beautiful garden and patio where guests can enjoy views seated on wrought iron chairs and a table is present. With an additional fee, specials like picnic lunches, gift baskets, fruit basket, newspaper and carriage rides can be organized. Sitting rooms have charming rocker gliders, piano and pine floors. The antiquely furnished formal dining room serves a complimentary full breakfast. Parking facilities are available in the streets or behind the B&B.

The rooms are cramped and dirty. They are dated and guests find them depressing. The bedding is old too and pillows provided are faded. There are virtually no amenities provided in the rooms other than an old model portable TV and a bar of soap. Floors of the rooms appear worn out.

Breakfast is too early for guests who like to sleep in late. The food served is average and limited. Not even a second tea bag is provided.

The stairs to the upper rooms are narrow and difficult for guests with mobility issues and seniors.
