Great NOLA location
Bluegreen Vacations Club La Pension is removed from the bustle and noise of the French Quarter yet close to absolutely everything, including the Mississippi River Walk, Cafe Du Monde, Frenchman's Street, Harrah's Casino, Jackson Square and more. It's walking distance to the heart of the French Quarter and its restaurants, bars and shops yet offers a cool, relaxing oasis after a long, hot day out. The rooftop terrace is also a nice perk.
positive:
Friendly, helpful staff
The front desk is friendly and welcoming, instantly making you feel right at home. The concierge service is excellent; they are very knowledgeable and provide great recommendations and book any reservations you need.
positive:
Stylish, clean rooms
The property and rooms offer lovely New Orleans charm. They are clean, comfortable and well appointed with beautiful hardwood floors and rich colors. If possible, book one with a balcony as many have nice views. Rooms are spacious, especially the two-bedroom suites, and comfortably accommodate family or larger groups. They're well equipped with kitchens suitable for preparing light meals and snacks.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Early checkout
Checkout at Bluegreen Vacations Club La Pension is 10 a.m., which is rather early, especially after a late night out. However, the front desk will store your luggage if you have a few hours to kill before catching a flight or leaving the city.
negative:
Lack of parking
There isn't much street parking nearby so you may end up having to walk a few blocks. The hotel offers valet parking but it's costly. That said, this is normal for the French Quarter. If you don't require a car you can get around easily by bus, trolley and on foot.
negative:
More storage space
More closet space and/or larger drawers would help, especially when traveling with a number of people and a lot of luggage.
