Positive Reviews
positive:
Close to the Everglades and Keys.
This hotel is ideal for visitors to the Everglades, Biscayne National Park and other nearby tourist destinations such as alligator farms, fruit orchards and gold courses. It's also the perfect place to overnight if you're driving to the Florida Keys, though the first Key is close enough for a day trip.
positive:
Clean, welcoming rooms.
Reviewers say the rooms are exceptionally clean and comfortable, with top-quality beds and bedding. The thick walls also mean you'll get a good night's sleep. Although this is an older hotel, it's been updated and is well maintained. Your room will be equipped with everything you need, including an ice bucket and an iron.
positive:
Excellent breakfast.
The complimentary breakfast is of a much higher standard than many other hotels, and there's always plenty of food to go round. Many reviewers were pleased to find tasty hot dishes as well as the usual cereals, toast, yogurt and fruit. You can eat inside or by the pool.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Internet can be slow.
Some guests reported that the internet service wasn't as fast as they had expected, and that it cut out sometimes. You should also know that the rooms have wired internet, although there is Wi-Fi in the common areas.
negative:
It can be hard to find.
Although the hotel is located near the turnoff from US 1 (S. Dixie Highway), some guests said they had trouble finding their way there as it there were no Best Western signs at the entrance on Krome Avenue.
negative:
The breakfast area gets crowded.
The complimentary breakfast is so popular that it can be hard to find a seat either in the kitchen area or outside, unless you arrive early. Also, some of the food stations are so close together that the breakfast bar sometimes gets congested.
