Positive Reviews
positive:
Very convenient central location
As all the apartments are in Amsterdam's city centre, many shopping areas, restaurants and cultural/historical sites are right around the corner. Although there are also a number of bus and tram/metro stops about, many guests don't spend a dime on transport while here!
positive:
Good value for money
Given the size of the studios and apartments, the overall comfort and cleanliness and the great location, Bema Rentals offers quite the deal as far as accommodation in Amsterdam.
positive:
Reliable Wi-Fi is a plus
Bema offers fast wireless internet connection to every apartment, although some guests on higher floors of their buildings may experience slightly weaker internet service.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Steep stairs and no elevators in some cases
In typical Amsterdam fashion there may be steps up into the building from the street level and more stairs inside to access the various levels. Some buildings do not have elevators and may have especially steep and narrow staircases, so those with limited mobility, heavy luggage, etc. should specify such while booking to ensure a unit with an elevator.
negative:
Maintenance could use some work
Although there are cleaning services every few days, previous guests have noted the overall maintenance and cleanliness of some of the apartments and buildings could do with some updating. The bathrooms in particular are small and not as clean as some would prefer.
negative:
Inconsistency in quality
As Bema is not a hotel or on a single property, the quality, size and surroundings of each apartment is not completely consistent and it is hard to tell the specifics of the unit you will get at the time of booking. If possible, try and specify any preferences eg. Balcony, elevator, quiet environment, etc while making your booking to ensure the best suited apartment for your needs.
