Positive Reviews
positive:
Efficient, friendly service.
Previous guests seem to have nothing but good things to say about the staff here - from the housekeeping team who will make your room spotless each day, to the warm and knowledgeable front desk staff who will check you in speedily, and offer you advice about things to do and see.
positive:
Plenty of local amenities.
Unlike many of the motels which line America's interstates and highways, Baymont Inn and Suites Jacksonville is located within a thriving local community, and you can actually walk to restaurants and grocery stores in the area. It makes a pleasant change from having to drive everywhere.
positive:
Laid-back, tranquil atmosphere.
While the staff are friendly, they're also discreet, and unless you need something, you'll be left to your own devices. You might find some like-minded people hitting the gym in the early morning, or children having fun in the pool, but facilities are rarely crowded, so you can relax and enjoy yourself.
Negative Reviews
negative:
The hotel's showing its age.
While it's a decent hotel, and it's far from falling to pieces, the decor is nevertheless showing its age, with paint peeling in some places, and some of the soft furnishings are becoming tired and worn. The issues are mostly just cosmetic, and shouldn't overly affect the comfort of your stay.
negative:
Carb-laden breakfast.
Ok, so it's a free hotel breakfast and you're not expecting amazing things, but guests do find that even in comparison to similar hotels, the breakfast offerings are seriously carb-heavy and uninspiring. Some guests recommend nearby cafes instead.
negative:
Non-soundproofed rooms.
The rooms are not soundproofed, and noise from neighboring rooms or from the corridor can often be heard. It's generally a fairly quiet hotel, so it's not a major issue for a lot of people, but it does depend on your neighbors - so you might want to take earplugs.
