Hotel Atwater (Avalon, USA)

The location is lovely and right in the midst of Avalon. You have easy access to restaurants, shops, and the beach. The staff are courteous and extremely helpful as well. For instance, if you want to leave your luggage when checking out early while you go about town, they are more than willing to oblige you at no extra charge.

The hotel standards are adequate. Clean towels are given daily. The bathroom is a bit small but doable. Linens are nice and the TV is large.

There is a bit of noise because the hotel is located on a busy street; however, the noise is not bothersome and you can sleep with ease through the night.

There is no elevator, so if you have heavy luggage you will have to lug them up the stairs. Thankfully, there aren't too many floors at the accommodation.

Supposedly the hotel has had renovations, but maybe the renovations haven't taken place in every part of the facility. The furniture appeared old and the place could do with a coat of paint. Torn cushions, broken furniture, old fridge, all made it seem like the hotel was on its way out instead of up. The hot water in the room is iffy as well. It's best to take a shower very early if not, you will end up with a cold shower with sporadic spurts of hot water.

There is literally no night life in the area; however, there is a karaoke bar and live music. You won't find places to go that stay open until the wee hours in the morning.
