Hotel Antico Doge - a Member of Elizabeth Hotel Group (Venice, Italy)

The staff at Antico Doge is said to be approachable, very helpful with requests and more than happy to dispense their extensive local knowledge, or tell you about the building's history. The breakfast buffet was mentioned as being served in a lovely dining room; offering simple, continental style fare like cold cuts, cereals, bread and coffee, and only a few guests were left unhappy.

Guests were very impressed with what they described as gorgeous traditional Venetian decor, including luscious fabrics, Murano glass chandeliers and other rich furnishings which you could expect from a former palace building. The rooms were found to be spacious, quiet, comfortable and clean, and some even boast views out over the canal.

This hotel reportedly has a central Venice location, with water taxis available even right up to the front door and attractions like Rialto Bridge, St. Mark's Square and Doge's Palace found within easy walking distance. Guests mentioned reasonably-priced restaurants close by and free water taxis to Murano are also apparently on offer.

The only issues previous Antico Doge guests thought you should keep in mind were that there were no elevators on site — so those with mobility issues or lots of luggage may have trouble — and that there is very bad Wi-Fi signal in some parts of the hotel.
