Positive Reviews
positive:
Lovely quiet location
Guests seemed surprised by how quite it was on the hotel grounds. Perhaps because the guest house is so close to town centre, they were definitely were expecting a bit more road noise than there was. They were pleasantly surprised at how quiet it was.
positive:
Excellent welcome from owners and Max
The owners are described as very welcoming, and seem to act just like guests expect from top hosts. Also mentioned was their knowledge of the area, especially the best restaurants to eat in town. Guests also didn't forget to mention Max, the owner's dog, who was said to also play great host and offer new guests a terrific welcome.
positive:
Extremely well-equipped
While many self catering places tend to be rather poorly equipped, and also feature missing plates, cutlery and so on, guests were very happy to report that at Glendower they wanted for nothing. The cottages and apartments were said to be perfectly equipped and supplied for the number of guests occupying the unit.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Rooms not well soundproofed
While guests loved the peaceful location, with not much street noise, some did mention that the sound insulation between rooms was poor, allowing sound to travel relatively unhindered from room to room.
negative:
No on-site dining
While there are plenty of places in the village to grab a bite to eat, some guests would have appreciated it if breakfast, at least, was available on-site. It would have been a bit more convenient for them.
negative:
Spotty Wi-Fi
While guests concede it worked well in the main house, the Wi-Fi signal was not said to be quite strong enough to reach the furthest cottages, leaving some guests with a very unreliable connection.
