Guesthouse Collaven Manor (Okehampton, United Kingdom)

The hotel is tucked away in the picturesque Devon countryside and surrounded by five acres of grounds which feature a manicured rose garden. Guests appreciated being away from the hustle and bustle yet still being close to many attractions including the Dartmoor National Park. If you are looking for a relaxing and laid -back countryside experience then you certainly won't be disappointed.

Guests were pleased to find that the rooms were of generous size with plenty of storage space and equally spacious bathrooms.  The interiors have retained many original period features such as exposed beams and furnished with high quality traditional furniture and upholstery much to the delight of those who stayed here.

The food served at the on-site restaurant was highly praised by many guests who said that the meals were tasty and hearty, made from quality local produce. Those who had special dietary requirements said that they were provided with plenty of tasty and interesting options.

The communal rooms including the lounges and the bar area were described as looking rather dated by some of the guests and in need of modernisation.  Old-fashioned pieces of furniture and tired looking upholstery were just some of the things brought up by disappointed guests.

Several plumbing-related issues were brought up by the guests ranging from poor water pressure through to leaking taps and occasional lack of hot water.

Those who wanted to have their evening meal at the hotel were requested to place their orders in the morning which some guests found rather cumbersome particularly those who had not yet decided whether they would dine on-site or eat elsewhere.
