Dreams Hotel Puerto Rico (San Juan, Puerto Rico)

The hotel is nothing fancy; however, the friendly staff and cheap rate makes it a gem. The hotel price is quite low for San Juan. It's great if you are a student, parent, or a visiting professor and need to be close to the university.

The hotel is eco-friendly, which is unique in itself, as many hotels are not so environmentally sensible. You will be made aware of the hotel's recycling program as it is made apparent on each floor and other parts of the facility.

The hotel is great for long-term stays as it is well equipped for it with a microwave and mini-fridge, and can easily fit within anyone's budget. In addition, the hotel staff are courteous and attentive. Besides, you get to mix with the locals instead getting caught-up in the heavy tourist areas. There are a lot of great places to eat and plenty of stores very close to the hotel as well.

If you have a front room, you should expect plenty of street noise. Through the night you will have to get used to the sound of car alarms, screaming, and sounds you may not be able to identify!

Some rooms are grimy and some have no windows. Worn mattresses are protected with a plastic covering. The furnishings are tired and the linens as well. However, you may be lucky enough to get a room in the updated wing, which is quieter and cleaner.

The hotel does not offer washcloths, so it's best that you bring your own. There is no elevator either and the air conditioners are mounted high on the wall, which was not very effective in cooling the room.
