Chumleigh Lodge Hotel (London, United Kingdom)

If you’re on a tight budget but still want to be within easy reach of the city, then this hotel is ideal. The rooms are adequate, and the free parking is a real bonus, but it’s the location that really seals the deal as it’s just a tube ride into the city

A microwave in the room is something you don’t always find in any hotel. It’s a nice extra that means that you can heat up your own food and eat in the room rather than spend a lot in expensive restaurants.

The tube station is literally a few minutes away, and that leads you right into the city. There is also the golf course nearby so if you fancy eighteen holes then it’s just a short walk to the clubhouse.

A few boxes of cereal does not a breakfast buffet make so you’ll most likely have to venture out into the neighborhood in search of your morning meal. Not a great start to the day.

The staff seem polite enough, but the owner/manager has ruffled more than a few feathers in his time there. Apparently the hotel rules change with his moods so take care not to bring food or drink into the room.

The rooms are not soundproofed at all so you can hear everything that is happening throughout the hotel. This is okay if your neighbours are quiet but if they are snorers, you may not get any sleep as you can even hear that through the walls.
