About Flaminio Village Bungalow Park
Set in a beautiful park on the outskirts of Rome, Flaminio Village offers bungalow-style accommodation and camping in a resort style environment throughout the year.
Accommodation ranges from permanent tents to six person bungalows. They are spread out in the grounds and each bungalow features air conditioning and free parking, while most also have fitted kitchens, private bathrooms and satellite TV.
The friendly reception is open 24 hours a day and can help with transfers and tours. In summer guests tend to congregate around the swimming pool, which has its own pool bar. Pets are welcome subject to approval.
L’Ottavo Colle Restaurant serves hearty and traditional Italian fare, while for those self-catering there is a mini-market on-site for supplies.
Flaminio Village is just 400 yards from Due Ponti Railway Station, from where trains leave for Rome’s Termini Station. Central Rome is about 5.3 miles to the south. This accommodation is also known as Flaminio Bungalow Park, Flaminio Village Bungalow Park, Flaminio Village Bungalow Park Campground, and Flaminio Village Bungalow Park Campground Rome.
Positive Reviews
positive:
Pool a major boon in summer
Many guests who travelled in the summer speak of the sheer relief of being able to return from a long day sightseeing, have a shower and the take a dip in the pool to cool down a bit. The setting, in lovely well-tended gardens, is also praised.
positive:
Good food at reasonable prices
Many guests were travelling on something of a budget, but still didn't feel like self catering for every meal. They seemed very happy with the quality of the food at L'Ottavo Colle Restaurant, with most commenting that they considered it excellent value as well.
positive:
Information centre very helpful
Again and again guests mention that the information they received from the information centre was incredibly helpful, and often prevented them from getting lost, or into trouble.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Possibly dangerous route to train station
This was perhaps the most often expressed negative opinion. The route from Flaminio to the nearby train station was considered dangerous at any time because of a busy road that needs to be crossed, seemingly without any pedestrian crossing. But aside from this, quite a few guests describe the area through which they walked as less than inviting, and were very uncomfortable walking there at night.
negative:
Bungalows cold in winter
There seemed to be a great many complaints from winter travellers claiming that the bungalows were not sufficiently heated. It is unclear whether they were merely unlucky, and experienced unusually low temperatures during their stay, or that there is a deeper problem.
negative:
Reception might be a far walk
Although this wasn't a major complaint, a couple of guests pointed out that it can be quite a trek to reception from the furthest bungalows. While there is an internal transfer, guests may have to wait a while for the next one to come around.
