Bed & Breakfast Hochelaga Inn (Kingston, Canada)

The guest house is situated in a quiet residential area  meaning that guests were able to enjoy peaceful and tranquil evenings. Many found the location very convenient as they were within walking distance of the town centre with its numerous shops, bars and restaurants. Guests also found it handy being close to the waterfront   where they could enjoy long scenic walks.

The building dated back to 1879 and many said that that the original period features such as the stained glass windows and open fire places made them feel like they had stepped back in time.   Despite the age of the building, guests said that they had all the necessary modern amenities such as coffee makers and cable televisions which added to the enjoyment of the stay.

Guests thoroughly enjoyed sitting out on the porch with a cup of tea or coffee whilst admiring the views. Many also enjoyed spending their free time in the cosy and comfortable lounge where they could read their papers or socialise with fellow occupants.

There are only a limited amount of parking spaces available on the premises and quite a few guests said that once they had moved their vehicles they struggled to find a free spot upon their return.

Guests said that the decor of their rooms was rather tired as they noticed marks on the walls and objected to the rather tatty-looking carpets and upholstery. Quite a few concluded that the en-suites would benefit from refurbishment.

There is no lift on the premises and guests whose rooms were located on the third floor said that they found the daily climb to their accommodation quite tiring.
