You can't get much closer to the beach than this grand, seafront hotel - in fact, you only need to step outside, and you're right on the boardwalk. Guests recommend upgrading to a front-facing room, since you'll have a balcony and a view of the ocean, making it an even better stay.

From the staff at the front desk who provide a speedy check-in service, to the beach attendants who are ready and waiting with umbrellas, the service throughout the hotel is professional and helpful. Many also offer plenty of advice of things to do and see in the area, so you'll be well looked after all round.

Guests love the leisure facilities at the Atlantic Sands Hotel & Conference Center, and it's no surprise, since as well as a large pool area with sun loungers, there are free chairs and umbrellas for use on the beach. If you want some fun in the sun, this hotel is perfect.

The hotel seems to be in a long process of being upgraded, but it means that large sections of the hotel look worn and tired in comparison to the renovated areas. Guests staying in the old part of the hotel resent paying the same amount as those in newly decorated rooms - and you'll just have to chance your luck.

Some guests have reported ongoing problems with connecting to the Wi-Fi from their rooms - it's a large hotel and in busy periods, it seems that the network just can't cope. If you're desperate to get online, it can be a nuisance, but you can usually connect if you persist.

While guests say that the rooms are comfortable and clean, many also comment that they feel cramped, especially if there are two people sharing the room. In the standard rooms, there's not a huge amount of space to spread out in, though if you have a balcony it creates some extra room.
