About Andrew Jackson Hotel French Quarter
The Andrew Jackson Hotel is an imposing town house style property. It is of 18th century, European, design and typical of this French Quarter of New Orleans.
Room and suite choices feature free Wi-Fi, 18th century furnishings, French toiletries, ceiling fans, air conditioning/heating, hairdryer and cable TV. Rooms also have authentic wrought iron balconies with city views.
The Andrew Jackson is in a highly favoured area of New Orleans; close to all central attractions and with the unmissable Lafitte’s Bar ... just around the corner!
In keeping with the style of a bygone age, complimentary breakfast is served in-room and on a silver tray! Later, a culinary history unfolds in neighbouring restaurants that embrace Creole, Cajun and French cuisine.
Royal Street Art Galleries, The French Quarter, Bourbon Street and other tourist favourites, are within walking distance, or very easy reach, of the hotel.
Positive Reviews
positive:
Southern comfort .. and hospitality!
Everyone is so friendly and helpful; plus, rooms are attractively themed with super comfortable beds. So, the hotel is rich in genuine hospitality .. and much enjoyed southern comfort!! *Breakfast in your room and on a silver tray? Life can't get better than this!
positive:
If you've got one .. forget the car!
The Jazzy Pass from the nice lady on reception gets you everywhere really cheaply; including the mustn't miss 'Rock 'n Bowl'! You don't need a car but maybe the occasional cab? Coming home in the early hours on hands and knees is uncomfortable and takes forever!!
positive:
True value.
This place isn't the last word in luxury - but it IS in a fantastic location, with staff who move heaven and earth to ensure that you're happy. All in all, top value at 100%.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Small complaints.
Rooms are very small .. uncomfortably small! Also, furnishings aren't' antique' - they're just plain old and worn out.
negative:
Air con noise.
The air con noise is unbelievably loud and from all accounts, has a life of its own and is uncontrollable. Set in the wall, the whole structure vibrates as it swings into action.
negative:
Poor housekeeping standards.
Something is wrong when you walk into a room and it smells 'musty'. Add to this, stained sheets and mattresses that are uncomfortable and with an unduly long term history. In short, it 'sucks'; unlike the vacuum cleaner!
