Positive Reviews
positive:
In a very convenient spot.
This hotel offers lots of good views, but many travellers appreciate it more for its convenient location. Right around the corner from the train depot, guests can hit the nearby coastal path for relaxing walks or get into downtown Anchorage for restaurants and entertainment.
positive:
Guestrooms offer plenty of space.
The private rooms have plenty of room to stretch out in, so everyone is very comfortable during their stay. Online reviews state that due to the space, the hotel is suitable for quick visits or for longer stays too.
positive:
Property is in good shape.
Plenty of facilities are offered to guests at this hotel including a business centre and laundry room. Guestrooms are also well equipped to cover all the needs a person may have during their stay.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Train whistles day and night.
Because of its proximity to the train station, guests will be dealing with frequent whistles. This creates a particularly noisy challenge for people with rooms facing the depot that have to keep windows open for ventilation.
negative:
Breakfast is a bit of a joke.
Morning meals are delivered in a sack to rooms daily instead of served in a dedicated room. As a result, there are very few items included in the continental breakfast and what is offered isn’t really fresh.
negative:
Older building is not handicap friendly.
Converted apartments make up this hotel and the decor doesn’t seem to have been updated since then, according to guests. What is worse is that visitors have to deal with steep staircases and no lift, so it is not a very handicap accessible property.
