Cape Hatteras National Seashore (Manteo, USA)

Cape Hatteras National Seashore is a group of Outer Banks Islands of North Carolina. This string of islands offers swimming, crabbing, surf fishing, shell collecting, bird and wildlife watching, sightseeing and hiking. Another activity which is open part of the year is the climbing to the top of the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. This does require an additional fee and tickets are issued on a first come, first served basis. There are three visitor centers, Bodie Island, Hatteras Island and Ocracoke Island Visitor Centers. All are open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. through the summer and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the winter (September through May) and is closed for Christmas. There is no fees for the National Seashore, however there are fees for Cape Hatteras Lighthouse climbing ($7 for adults and $3.50 for children under 12), campground use ($20 per night) and Marina Boat Dock Fees ($1.25 per boat foot per day capping at 80 feet or $80 per day).
