Vallartasol Hotel (Puerto Vallarta, Mexico)

Guests felt that they received great value. Rooms were kept extremely clean, with the pool and grounds also spotless. Strong air-conditioning, plenty of drinking water and a pool that was made for swimming made repeat customers out of many guests.

Hotel staff were an accommodating bunch, with many guests noticing how friendly and eager to please everyone was. When problems arose, they were quickly taken care of, and staff and management seemed to make it a priority to keep guests happy.

Getting to the convenience store, bank, coffee shop, or even the cinema was easy for guests. It was also a bonus to be close to the beach and to be in a safe neighbourhood.

If you plan on staying up well into the night, you might not be bothered by rooms facing the street. But if you value a good sleep, guests said that loud trucks were a problem from time to time, and that nearby bars and the resulting pedestrian traffic were hard to drown out.

A soft mattress was impossible to find here. Unfortunately, several guests described mattresses as hard as rocks with little give. If you have sore joints or prefer a softer bed, staying here might detract from your relaxing vacation.

While there was lots to love about this hotel, not on the list for guests was the temperamental Wi-Fi. The good news is that staff tried to fix slow Internet, but the bad news is that there was often nothing that could be done.
