The West Park Hotel (Harrogate, United Kingdom)

Guests appreciated the West Park bar's ambience and atmosphere and said it is popular with both the residents and locals. The talented bar manager mixed unusual but amazing cocktails and guests said they also enjoyed the accompanying wines with the excellent meal served.

Guests find the Check-in procedures taken care of swiftly by the reception staff, who they found is very informed and made them feel valued by the service. Guests liked the variety and choices for breakfast at the hotel.

Many guests say that the rooms although slightly small are stylish. The large and comfortable beds add character to the rooms. Guests appreciated the small and thoughtful touches like the coffee machine, fresh milk on offer, special teas and cockscrew present in the rooms.

Some guests staying in the suites said that the heated towel rail was as hot as a kettle and they almost burnt their arm on it. But in contrast, the water in the bath and sink was tepid. The baths in most rooms do not have a grab handle or safety rail and guests said they had trouble standing erect under the shower as the baths have 45 degree bends in the corners.

Some guests did not like that their rooms had views of a concrete wall. They also said that they had to get out of bed to turn off the light as there is no switch by the bedside, which was a hassle.

Parking is an issue at the hotel and guests say they have to park in the street or at a multi-storey close by. Not being able to stop at the front door to unload luggage is an added inconvenience.
