Positive Reviews
positive:
Excellent location in the centre of Wadebridge.
You can’t get any closer to the centre of Wadebridge, and it’s a charming little town for wandering around. Outdoorsy guests are pleased by the nature trails, and it’s a good location for exploring North Cornwall.
positive:
Decent pub grub and traditional ales.
The pub and restaurant is a popular dining spot in the town, and guests praise the satisfying pub meals on offer, as well as the local cask ales. If you like a good sing-song, you’re in luck: the pub also hosts live music nights.
positive:
Adequate rooms with comfy beds.
They might not be super-luxurious, but the rooms are reasonably priced and provide a comfy night’s sleep. Most guests give the beds the thumbs up, and rooms are suitably spacious.
Negative Reviews
negative:
No parking in the vicinity.
The trade-off for such a central location is a distinct lack of parking – if you come by car, you’ll be leaving it some distance from the hotel, so it’s something to factor into your plans.
negative:
Staff don’t always seem prepared.
There’s only a small staff at The Swan Hotel, dealing with both the pub and hotel, so the service is not always up to scratch, and definitely not 24-hour. However, guests generally find that the staff are friendly.
negative:
Tired décor in need of refurbishment.
While the rooms are comfortable enough, they’re in need of a bit of sprucing up. Guests have complained that carpets are a bit stained and worn, and the bathrooms could do with an upgrade.
