Positive Reviews
positive:
Near to all the main attractions.
Virtually all the main historical attractions in Istanbul are within walking distance; from the Blue Mosque to the Grand Bazaar, the Basilica Cistern and Topkapi Palace. If you are planning on sightseeing during your trip to the City you would struggle to find somewhere more convenient.
positive:
Outside space in the middle of the City.
Whether you opt for the garden (with resident cats) or the rooftop terrace, there are several spots at Sarnic where you can relax in the open air. The rooftop terrace, in particular, is popular, thanks to the sweeping views it enjoys over the Blue Mosque and the Bosphorus.
positive:
Three-star rooms, five-star service.
Rooms are basic, but clean and comfortable but, for most, they are entirely manageable considering the excellent location and the wonderful staff. Previous guests have remarked on how friendly and attentive the team are at Sarnic, and those staying for several days swiftly feel like part of the family.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Little and large.
Thanks to its historic building setting, rooms vary dramatically. Some are large, some are considerably smaller and it does also depend upon which side of the hotel you are on. Guests find that, in general, guest rooms on the 'boutique' side are more compact than those on the 'premier' side.
negative:
Negatives to the central location.
There is no escaping that the hotel is situated in a prime tourist area. Convenient? Yes. Yet, for some, there are pitfalls. You are likely to encounter some beggars on the streets near the hotel (who can be persistent), and light sleepers are advised to pack earplugs to avoid being awoken in the early hours by the call to prayer.
negative:
Wi-Fi could be improved.
Previous guests have reported that the Wi-Fi is inconsistent; frequently dropping out and delivering low speeds.
