J D Wetherspoon The Queen is a historical pub in Aldershot with rooms upstairs for letting that were opened to the public in 2014 spring. The hotel is centrally located. According to some guests it is the best located for the centre of Aldershot. The hotel is described as ‘standard Weatherspoon fare' and this is one of the newer, better pubs in the chain. The newly refurbished rooms are said to be very clean, with good beds and furnishings that offer a comfortable and quiet stay.

The hotel offers doubles, twin rooms and family rooms. A family of up to four people can be accommodated in the family rooms very economically so the family rooms are said to offer particularly good value for money. Many guests said they would be revisiting.

J D Wetherspoon The Queen offers traditional pub fare that receives largely positive reviews. The interiors of the historical building are very interesting and well restored.  The service is friendly and helpful, said guests.

The rooms are located above a pub and so get noisy from time to time. A few guests also commented on how the rooms on the second floor got noisy late into the night with banging of doors and so on.

Though the pub has disabled access, the rooms are all located on the first and second floors. The stairs makes things difficult for older or disabled people.

The car park is some distance away, requiring guests to trudge up to the hotel after parking. Finding parking close by is a problem.
