The Priory Hotel (Pittsburgh, USA)

The Priory Hotel is set in the historic District of Deutschtown and guests find the monastery turned hotel charming with its period architecture and vintage interiors. The hotel is a stroll from many of the town's attractions including downtown, PNC Park and the Andy Warhol Museum. The Monongahela Incline and Heinz Field are within a three kilometer distance from the hotel.

All rooms feature a terrace where guests get views of either the skyline or the courtyard of the hotel. Suites have an additional sitting room with sofa beds provided. Satellite TV, safe, iron and ironing board is featured in all the rooms. Private bathrooms are provided with hair dryers.

The hotel has a fitness center for the fitness enthusiasts. A business center for holding meetings or events like weddings is present and open 24 hours. The front desk staff is available all day and night. The hotel's Victorian style courtyard with garden is a lovely addition where guests can hang out. They can spend a relaxing time in the lobby as well where tea or coffee is served to them. The Church in this former monastery has an elegant ballroom. The hotel provides free shuttle service to guests to central places. Breakfast, parking and Wi-Fi are other complimentary amenities.

The front desk staff needs more training in customer service as they appear to be unenthusiastic and uncaring. The front entry door is considerably heavy and difficult to open and staff does not make a move to hold the door open even when guests are Checking-in or out with heavy luggage.

The steps leading to the front entry are high which seniors with mobility issues find difficult to climb. Parking area is overcrowded and inconvenient. There are no clear signs to guide guests through the exit of the gated parking lot.

Rooms need more electrical sockets and shower heads need to be replaced as they are small and filled with calcium deposits.
