positive:
Restaurant worth a visit.
Most guests were happy that they had stopped in to the newly refurbished restaurant. With a seasonal menu and generous portions, guests enjoyed their meals whether they were partaking in breakfast or dinner. A standout for many guests were the perfectly prepared breakfasts, served piping hot without delay.
positive:
Pleasant staff.
The hospitality team at The Lerwick were a highlight for many guests. Staff were always found to be courteous and efficient, with good knowledge about the local area. Everyone from the restaurant to front desk staff deserved a pat on the back, according to guests.
positive:
Ask for a room with a view.
If staying at this hotel again, guests would be sure to request a sea view room. Crashing waves marked the mesmerising panoramic landscape, and guests even saw the odd seal, otter, or even a whale.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Outdated rooms.
While guests were given a great first impression when they entered the hotel lobby, this changed when they opened the door to rooms described as old-fashioned and in need of refurbishment. Peeling wallpaper and older decor were disappointments during an otherwise enjoyable visit.
negative:
Cleanliness issues.
Guests found the general cleanliness of The Lerwick to be slightly below average. Dust, cobwebs, and blankets that looked like they hadn't been washed were in need of some attention. Some guests would have also liked to see cleaner windows and a deep clean in areas that aren't always seen.
negative:
Shower surprise.
Not only were most bathrooms considered to be on the small side, a few guests also complained of poor shower pressure and waning hot water from time to time.
