The Buccaneer Beach & Golf Resort (Christiansted, US Virgin Islands)

From golf to tennis, there's always something to do at this hotel where the amenities are the biggest attraction. Guests are wowed by the fact that you get snorkeling gear and all kinds of swimming equipment for free.

The beach is literally steps away from the rooms, and there are three to choose from. You can't get much better than that, and if the sand is too much for you then the pools are incredibly well maintained, and they never seem to be too busy.

The lovely people that work in the restaurants and the bars here are super nice and love to chat with their guests. If you want to know anything about the area, skip the front desk and head to the bars where the staff are full of useful information.

Guests feel that they are held to ransom over the cost of food at this resort. There are no other dining options within walking distance so many feel that they have no choice but to eat on-site. Make sure you budget for your meals or the credit card might

This place is quite beautiful, but it would benefit from some renovation work as some of the rooms and public areas are starting to show the signs of age. It's not the worst but makes the place feel a little dated and overpriced.

Some of the staff at this hotel are brilliant at their jobs but sadly it seems that the management isn't quite so good. Guests have said that their complaints often fell on deaf ears and that trying to speak to a manager was virtually impossible.
