Splendid Star Grand Hotel and Spa (Hanoi, Vietnam)

Set back from the intense snarl of Hanoi traffic, but located right in the heart of the city's Old Quarter, guests found that this property offered both a superb base from which to explore the area and a calm, quiet atmosphere that was much appreciated at the end of a long day of sightseeing. In particular, the hotel's proximity to the night market, local restaurants and nearby lake were highly praised.

Judging by past guest reviews, many had absolutely superb stays here. While the all-around standard of accommodation is great, it's fair to say that this property's team have had quite a lot to do with the excellent guest experience here. The staff of this city centre hotel are genuine and friendly, even taking guests on impromptu tours and pointing out their favourite street eats. This made a tremendous impression on newcomers, with many taking the time to mention staff by name in reviews.

As if it couldn't get much better - in addition to its great location and outstanding staff - this hotel has also fared very well in the accommodation stakes. True to form, many could find absolutely no fault at all with their rooms and units. The air conditioning was cold and strong and there were no complaints regarding street noise. Both the beds and the rooms were found to be comfortable, clean and well-maintained and the units themselves extremely spacious.
