All rooms here have views of the water. There's water everywhere you look. This is a fisherman's paradise, with a marina and bait shop onsite. The area's well known for its excellent flats fishing.

Sugarloaf Key is about 45-minutes from Key West and its tourists. The vibe here is laid back and guests say they feel like they're taking a step back in time to a quieter, slower pace. And you can't get closer to nature with all the animals and plants in the protected backcountry in the lower keys.

Guests say the hotel could use some updating and few more amenities, like coffee and tea makers in the rooms. Most guests say the hotel is very clean but there are complaints about old mattresses that need to be replaced and worn towels and bedding.

Guests say the rooms here have a very old-fashioned feel with dated furniture and fixtures. Some consider the decor funky and retro, but others say it feels like Grandma's house, but on the water. Others say they feel like they're staying in the Brady Bunch house.

Needless to say, when you're out in nature you'll run into some bugs. Bring some bug repellant and be prepared to see some insects.
