Of course it had to be the location that guests most appreciated about the hotel. Most had come to ski. In order to ski, one must of course first get up the mountain. Guests were very happy that their hotel was mere steps from the main lifts ferrying skiers and boarders heavenward to skiing nirvana.

Guests didn't only like that they were right by the slopes, but also that they were clearly visible from most of the rooms. The view of the slopes only added to their sense of excitement, and really brought home that, yes, they really were taking that ski trip.

Again and again guests complimented the staff for being very friendly and welcoming. But more than that, they were also said to be genuinely enthusiastic and very wiling to share their local knowledge.

While there were no real complaints about the quality of the breakfast, there were certainly complaints about the cost. Guests said that it was simply far too expensive, really irrespective of what it offered. They recommended simply taking breakfast in a nearby café instead.

Based on the number of guest complaints, it seems the sofa beds at New Chastillon are very uncomfortable indeed. Guests complained that they are somehow both too hard and too lumpy, and it seemed they could not get a good night's rest if they were the unfortunate member of their party to be stuck there.

There is a wellness centre at the hotel that guests can use for an extra fee. While the sauna was described as lovely, many said that the pool was simply too small to really be used for swimming.
