Positive Reviews
positive:
Great location on the seafront.
The Surfing Playa complex is in a Goldilocks location - not too close to the main stretch of bars to attract the rowdiest youngsters, not too far out to be a pain to get to. Instead, it's within an easy stroll of both the beaches and entertainment.
positive:
Plenty of loungers in the pool area.
Guests love the pool area at this hotel, and they say that there is none of the usual morning rush for loungers. There are plenty available, so you don't have to contend with the towel reservation game.
positive:
Clean and spacious apartments.
The apartments are spacious enough to accommodate the whole family comfortably, and are kept spotlessly clean by the housekeeping staff. A tip from previous guests is to request a room with a sea view for the best experience.
Negative Reviews
negative:
The kitchens lack basic equipment.
While the kitchens do have some equipment, they also lack some basic necessities, like a kettle and a sharp knife. This is an annoyance for guests who want to self-cater, or who just want to make a cup of tea.
negative:
Rooms on the road side are less than ideal.
Some apartments are located on the roadside of the building, and though they come cheaper, most guests think it's worth upgrading to the sea view rooms. Not only is the view of the road unappealing, it also makes the apartments noisy.
negative:
Basic furniture and dated decor.
While the apartments are decently furnished and kitted out, everything is fairly basic, and the beds don't live up to everyone's expectations. Guests say that the decor is dated too, and could do with a revamp.
