A home away from home in Lyon...
Families and groups of friends travelling together enjoy the loft-style layout of the apartments for the extra space and privacy. Because Les Halles Paul Bocuse is so close by, many are happy to use the kitchenettes, and generally find them sufficiently well equipped and comfortable to cook in.
positive:
A quiet, yet well connected location...
Guests travelling by train appreciate that the Gare de Lyon Part-Dieu TGV station is within a 15-minute walk, as is the Rhone Express lto St Exupery airport. The hotel is also well connected to the rest of the city via tram, bus, and metro, though healthy travellers are able to walk to all the sights of Vieux Lyon (25 minutes for the fleet of foot, closer to 40 minutes at a more leisurely pace.)
positive:
Polite, hospitable staff...
The front desk personnel receive many rave reviews for their friendly, helpful service. Tourists are relieved to find them knowledgeable about the area, and the complimentary coffee in the lobby is a welcoming touch, too.
Negative Reviews
negative:
A rock and a hard place...
Guests who stay during a summer heat wave are dismayed to find the hotel is not air-conditioned, and opening the windows can let in too much street noise (or a few mosquitos!)
negative:
Leave your SUV at home...
Drivers appreciate the on site parking garage, but note that the narrow passageways would be too tricky for larger vehicles.
negative:
Skip the sofa beds...
They are as uncomfortable in this hotel as they are almost everywhere else. Also, travellers report it's necessary to fold them back up to move about the room comfortably.
