The staff here are welcoming and professional in their approach. Guests were impressed by the size and quality of the accommodation, and were delighted to have a separate sitting room and small patio area. They enjoyed the live music provided in the bar, and found the atmosphere very convivial. They were also impressed by the hotel's surroundings and the walk into the town. .

The breakfast offers a wide range of food to suit every taste, and is sufficient to set you up for the day, it is served in lovely rooms with views of the gardens. .

The grounds are beautiful, there is ample free parking, and guests generally felt that the hotel offers good value for money. .

Many guests felt that the accommodation is very outdated, and requires considerable updating, especially in respect of the sound insulation. Noise from the plumbing and adjoining rooms including those above, such as footsteps, were found to be intrusive. The rooms are rather dark, even in the morning, and the lighting is not sufficient for guest who wish to read. .

Some rooms do not enjoy a good view. The pool is rather small for the size of the hotel, and there is a lack of play facilities for children staying. .

Guests were disappointed not to be allowed to eat and drink in the bar as they were accompanied by their 20 year old son. The service at dinner on a Saturday was found to be slow, a problem that arose as there was a busy wedding party going on. Generally the hotel was found to be well served by the staff, and located in beautifully maintained surroundings, but in definite need of updating of the infrastructure that recalls the 1970s and 1980s.
