Positive Reviews
positive:
Modern, stylish rooms.
Guests appreciated the tasteful decor of Sara's Boutique Hotel’s stylish rooms, which proved to be well-renovated, with modern bathrooms, nice beds, and were always clean. Some rooms also have the bonus of balconies, and the elevator, while a little slow, was appreciated as an alternative to the building’s steep stairs.
positive:
Walk to entertainment attractions, eat nearby.
You will find the hotel to occupy a good spot, with lots of restaurants, bars and cafes around, and Leidseplein square, the Van Gogh Museum and Vondelpark within a short walk. Its location just outside of the canal ring means it is in a relaxed area, but still close enough to easily access Amsterdam centre by foot or tram.
positive:
Polite and helpful staff.
The staff was generally found to be friendly, polite and always happy to help, but a few of those who stayed considered certain staff members a little less than courteous, which as some commented, perhaps comes down to Dutch directness.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Small rooms and bathrooms.
As is normal in Amsterdam, the rooms at Sara's Boutique Hotel were sometimes found to be on the small side, and some guests also thought the bathrooms to be cramped, with small sinks and not a lot of room to store toiletries.
negative:
Noisy from other guests.
According to reviews, the sound-proofing between rooms does not appear to fantastic, and especially the rooms on ground floor can have some disturbance from other guests entering the lobby, so make sure to take some earplugs with you.
negative:
No air conditioning.
A small number of those who stayed in summer experienced difficulties with the heat in their rooms thanks to the lack of air conditioning, which meant they occasionally had to sleep with the window open and hear street noise.
