Rougey Lodge Hostel (Bundoran, Ireland)

Rougey Lodge was nice and inviting, according to the majority of guests who enjoyed their stay. Staff seemed to care about guests, and this well run establishment had a laid back vibe that many enjoyed.

The central location of this hostel was very convenient for guests. Close to shopping, nightlife, and restaurants, guests were also given great sea views.

The large shared kitchen was a hit with guests who found it to be clean and well-equipped. You can't really go wrong with a pizza oven, and if cooking isn't your thing, the TV lounge had lots of seating and was an inviting place to be.

Reality wasn't as good as the photographs that some guests viewed prior to arrival. While rooms were clean, they were often found to be basic, and a few advised that it would be wise to pack a towel and toiletries.

Some guests did their fair share of tossing and turning at night because of soft mattresses. Older beds contributed to a poor sleep for a few, and others thought that scratchy sheets could have used an update.

A lot of people in close proximity often means that noise is an issue. Rougey Lodge was no exception, with some guests complaining about banging doors and night time noise levels. The good news, is that common areas are closed down by 11:00 p.m. to allow guests a chance to get some sleep.
