If you love outdoor pursuits then you'll be in your element here. This hotel's setting between Rocky Mountain National Park and the Roosevelt National Forest provides almost endless opportunities for horseback riding, mountain biking, cross-country skiing, climbing and white water rafting.

Some of the rooms here afford awesome views of surrounding peaks like Flattop Mountain and Hallett Peak. Without doubt, it's well worth paying a little extra (if need be) to wake up to vistas as stunning as this.

If you're a parent traveling with small children then you'll know just how hard it can be to entertain them in the evenings. Happily, the hotel has a handy DVD rental service that can make such testing times much easier to deal with...

It is fair to say that the interior of this hotel, from the accommodations and hallways to the public areas and pool area, look a little neglected and run down. It's a shame really as even just a little bit of care and attention would do wonders here...

You'd better hope and/or pray that your neighbors in the adjoining rooms are the quiet type: the walls here do a less-than-impressive job when it comes to suppressing noise...

Whilst it is undoubtedly a little dated and has some issues surrounding soundproofing have also been reported.
