Gorgeous room views
The ocean views from some rooms and from the common areas and pools are simply stunning. They overlook Mandalay Beach and are beautiful, especially at sunset. The patio areas face the beach and this area is quiet, unlike the busier tourist beaches up and down the coast. There is also a bike path that flows along the coast.

Nice resort amenities
This hotel operates more like an exclusive resort than a stop and stay nightly chain. There are several pools to choose from, plus a spa with full services and treatments. The breakfast is freshly-made and not just a continental fare. Plus, the evening reception is a treat, with complimentary alcoholic drinks and snacks.
positive:
Good for a long stay
The rooms are great for a relaxing beach week with family. The two-room suites are spacious and provide two bathrooms and two TVs . The microwaves and refrigerators give an added convenience for nipping up the room for a quick lunch instead of driving to find food every day.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Extra charges
Parking isn't free and is actually quite expensive. The price per day is high for any resort, much less one in a quieter beach area. The valet service isn't that much more, but is slower and you might be waiting. There is also a per day fee for WiFi, which is also quite hefty.
negative:
Not the greatest service
There are several housekeeping fails that lower the quality of service. The rooms are often dusty with full trash bins at check-in and many rooms are not ready until late in the day, when guests are ready to return and relax. Also, room service is only available from the afternoon on, so no late sleeping in if you want to be fed.
negative:
Self-service beach
You'll have to bring your own stuff to the beach. There are few loungers and umbrellas and no beach service.
