Resort Wanderers Retreat (Port Stephens, Australia)

This resort has a serene, peaceful atmosphere which leaves the visitor feeling renewed, relaxed and refreshed. In such an atmosphere, it is possible to get great views of wildlife, even though the elusive koalas are usually hiding. Possums are easily seen as they are a lot less shy. Kookaburras are usually singing nearby in the mornings. Sometimes kangaroos come close. This place is great for wildlife enthusiasts say guests.

Although in a remote location, the amenities in the rooms are excellent. Guests enjoy the sense of peaceful luxury which comes from having amenities like flat-screen TV, DVD player and spa bath in such a peaceful setting. The staff here is also very helpful.

Guests have discovered that even though the location is quite remote, the spot is actually quite accessible for the surrounding areas, which makes it all very convenient. A peaceful retreat with access to the outside world when it is desired or needed. There's a beach nearby with a coffee shop and Port Stephen in the nearby area has tourist facilities, shops, restaurants, cruises etc.

Being close to nature, the accommodation has its share of bugs and insects. Guests advise taking adequate precautions against harmful insects, particularly mosquitoes.

Since this location is off the grid,  guests might miss their Wi-Fi. There is a Wi-Fi signal on the property, but some of the guests found it a little difficult (and frustrating) to catch it.

The location strives to be in harmony with nature. Some guests, however, find the eco-toilet a bit off putting with no flush. Others didn't mind.
