Close to Rocky Mountain Park
This is the perfect accommodation for those seeking somewhere to stay which is close to a town and stores, while still being within reach of the beautiful Rocky Mountain Park, which is only twelve miles away. The lodge is situated on the north side of Prospect Mountain in an area known as 'The Gateway to the Rockies' and this location offers plenty of nature and wildlife in its own right.
positive:
Charming Accommodation
This accommodation is now just over 100 years old. It retains many of its original features. It is attractive from the outside, nestled among mature trees. Inside it provides a feeling of being in a traditional pine lodge. In winter a huge fire burns in the lobby.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Rooms a Little Plain
The interior of the rooms haven't been remodeled to modern standards. The décor and furnishings aren't particularly noteworthy, however, the beds are comfortable, everything works and they are kept very clean.
negative:
Far to Walk to Town
Guests can walk downtown from the lodge, however, for those with small children, or who have mobility issues this walk might prove a little too long. There is a steep hill to navigate on the return journey.
negative:
No Air Con in Rooms
There are no air conditioning units in any of the rooms. Some found that their rooms got a little hot at night. There are fans in the rooms, which provide some circulation of air. An open window usually suffices to cool down the air at night.
