Positive Reviews
positive:
Beautiful, convenient location
Most guests report that the hotel grounds are very pretty and well maintained. Many guests enjoyed gazing out at the ocean from their rooms, or else headed down to the pool and hot tub, which also offer spectacular views of the water. Though the hotel is outside the city center, it offers a free shuttle into downtown Bar Harbour, which is only a mile or so away. Acadia National Park and many other sites are within a short drive as well.
positive:
Come hungry..
Many guests enjoy the breakfast buffet, which offers enough choice to suit everyone in the family. The Italian restaurant and Stewman's Lobster Pound have both received many positive reviews from hungry guests. The poolside Tiki Bar is also much appreciated.

Friendly, helpful staff
The front desk and wait staff have received many comments on their personable and professional customer service, with guests often noting that the team is knowledgeable about the Bar Harbor area and happy to answer questions from new visitors.

A tale of two hotels..
While rooms in the main building are generally described as clean and comfortable, if no longer brand-new, rooms in the Eden House, an annex building, are more often described as "old", "worn", and "musty". Many feature a view of the parking lot.
negative:
Slow or no service..
Many guests note that the Wi-Fi is slow or unreliable. Others report a long wait in the hotel restaurants, while guests who find themselves in the Eden House and request an upgrade are generally disappointed in the response from the front desk or management.
negative:
Signs, signs..
Several guests drove past the hotel several times because the sign by the entrance reads "Regency Hotel" and not "Holiday Inn".
