Positive Reviews
positive:
Varied, high-quality food
With six restaurants on-site, guests should have no issue finding something to meet their own personal taste. Food is said to be of high quality and, while reservations are required for some of the more busy options, space is usually available. The dessert buffet comes highly recommended.
positive:
Huge range of facilities
There are a huge range of leisure facilities for guests to enjoy while at Couples Swept Away. Whether you rather active sports such as tennis, basketball, aerobics or something more relaxed; such as catamaran excursions and a full-service spa. Almost all activities on-site are complimentary.
positive:
Smiles all round
Previous guests have only good things to say about the staff at the hotel, and most find the Jamaican people, in general, to be exceptionally friendly. Despite being a large resort, it somehow manages to retain a warm, personal atmosphere.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Very relaxed nightlife
The Couples Swept Away resort does advertise a nightclub, but the club is more like a piano bar than anything else. Those looking for lively nightlife may be left disappointed.
negative:
Over-eager beach vendors
One downside for some is that locals do wander the beach- hawking their wares. Most find a polite no is enough to be left alone but, when the area is otherwise tranquil and stress-free, the constant peddling can be frustrating.
negative:
Strict dress codes
Some previous guests have taken objection to the strict dress codes at some of the restaurants. While the beach restaurants are more relaxed, long trousers and shirts are required in the more formal options. It is, of course, understandable that standards have to be set but, during the hottest time of year, some find long trousers unbearable.
