Whether you've raised or are raising a family, or haven't even considered it yet, Hotel Blue Bay Villas Doradas offers a cozy, romantic retreat environment, as well as a relaxing, treat yourself vacation for singles and groups of friends.

With an entertainment staff, bike and car rentals, diving, windsurfing, tennis courts, spa, shopping, several restaurants, and bars on-site, you may never run out of things to do at the resort. Still, there's a whole island to explore, so don't get too landlocked at the resort.

At the hotel, you'll have a number of fine options to satiate your hunger after a long day of relaxing and walking the beach. Choose from an international buffet-style meal, light snacks at the snack bar, or Asian cuisine. The hotel also has you covered for drinks, with a pub and a poolside bar.

While the hotel does offer wireless Internet service, they will charge you for it. Several guests mentioned that over several days, the cost of access can add up quickly. Some guests were also disappointed that it wasn't part of the "all-inclusive" deal.

Although the beach by the hotel is supposed to be private, some guests have reported that vendors lurk the beach and sometimes try a little too hard to sell you their wares. Enjoying the beach before peak hours may help reduce the vendors' impact on your vacation.

The Hotel Blue Bay Villas Doradas does offer a fairly comprehensive all-inclusive package. However, if you're looking to head into the Puerto Plata for nightlife or tourist activities, the hotel is a bit of a drive from town, and if you didn't rent a car, cab fare can be steep.
