Positive Reviews
positive:
Great Central Location
The location is definitely the greatest draw here. It appears to be an extended-stay option for some longer term guests. More affordably priced than other central San Francisco locales. Less than a ten-minute stroll from Union Square, San Francisco Playhouse, numerous nightlife and shopping venues, and the renowned Market Street, you'll be central to plenty of notable attractions. Some felt the older architecture was charming and were able to easily ignore the apparently ongoing reconstruction. Parking can be tricky, but there is a fifteen-minute spot for use while checking in, after which you can search for street parking; some folks had good luck on Sutter Street.
positive:
Basic, Cozy Rooms
No frills accommodations are adequately furnished, decent and comfortable for most. Clean with flat screen televisions, good beds, refrigerators, excellent towels and superb water pressure. Although some units do not have functioning air conditioning, there are usually ceiling fans and most windows open. Do check ahead on whether your room has a private bathroom; some appear to have shared facilities.
positive:
Some Staff was Stellar
Most staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly, more than willing to suggest area attractions and assist whenever needed. Other staff are remarkably serious in personality and a bit less accommodating. Mixed reviews.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Dated, Dirty and Under Construction
The venue is older and undergoing renovation, which means exposed wires, holes in walls, paint peeling, an ancient elevator, no heat in some rooms (even after alerting staff), and dusty/dirty/broken features in abundance.
negative:
Noise Issues
Your sleep may be disturbed by loud music from other guests and street noise, especially when windows are open. Ask for a quieter room in back.
negative:
Obnoxious Staff
Some reported certain staff were rude and purposely overcharged them, fraudulently charged them and kept luggage hostage until dishonest charges were paid.
