It's the simple things that are often the most important at hotels, and Palm Court deals with them very well. Everything is spotless and tidy at this establishment, both in public areas and in guestrooms.

The Traditional Scottish breakfast here is tasty and there are some good continental alternatives if that doesn't take your fancy. Eating it on the terrace is a lovely way to kick off your morning.

You'll receive a warm Scottish welcome when you arrive at this hotel and staff will remain cheery and attentive throughout your stay. They create a lovely atmosphere and will also help you with any local knowledge that you require. Nothing is too much trouble for them.

Rooms at Palm Court are rather on the warm side. This means that you might want to sleep with the window open. However, the problem with this is that the building is next to a busy road and the traffic can get somewhat loud.

While the mattresses are comfy enough, the beds are rather low, which means that getting in and out of them is trickier than is preferable.

Although it is very clean and generally nicely presented, some public areas of the hotel are perhaps a little past their best, in terms of décor. A lick of paint and a spruce up would do the world of good.
